We have merged

In early summer 2018, St Nicholas Group Practice merged with Rosehill Surgery and Manchester Road Surgery.

We are now BURNLEY GROUP PRACTICE. All phone numbers, patient access etc. remains the same.

This will not affect your care and we hope that this will improve your patient experience.

Patients will retain access to their usual doctor (subject to availability) and will have the flexibility to attend either St.Peters Centre or Manchester Road Surgery.

We strive to offer a high standard of care to all of our patients with professionalism and empathy.

We are informing you that you have a named GP who is accountable for your care. However, when making appointments you can still see any GP of your choice.

Please help us to improve our online services & further develop the website by providing feedback to us, or please help us to develop the practice by getting involved through our patient reference group.

Thank you for using our services.

Healthy Lifestyle

Improving Health & Well-being

The Healthy Lifestyles team, based at St Peter’s Health Centre, is a partnership between Burnley Leisure, East Lancashire’s Clinical Commissioning Group, East Lancashire’s Hospital Trust and Lancashire County Council.

The team delivers the Burnley Encouraging Exercise on Prescription (BEEP) scheme, where referrals are supported in setting realistic goals to improve their health; working with them to learn about safe physical activity, coping with stress and healthy eating. They are encouraged to progress safely at their own pace, gradually becoming fitter to make activity part of their daily life.

All instructors bring a wealth of experience to the team, each a specialist instructor in their area of work.

Please see the Healthy lifestyles programmes and activity booklet for more details.

Open access Stop Smoking Clinics provide advice, support and motivation to help individuals stop smoking and stay stopped long-term.

Healthy Lifestyles also deliver a number of specialist exercise programmes, including Cardiac Rehabilitation, Exercise after Stroke, Falls Prevention and the new Macmillan Move More programme.

They also have specialist instructors delivering male and female weight management Lose Weight 4 Good sessions, providing referrals with the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a healthier weight; the provision of community exercise classes to encourage a wider range of people to take up some form of physical activity and our dedicated over 50’s co-ordinator committed to engaging older adults in physical and social activity and aiming to overcome loneliness and social isolation.
